Joining the Board of Trustees

We’ve won another Big Lottery grant and funding from the Army Covenant Fund – now we need you!

Trustees Wanted

Home-Start Kennet is a long-established local children’s charity, based in Pewsey.

Our Mission

Home-Start Kennet offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children in our local communities. Our trained volunteers visit families at home and offer them informal, flexible and confidential support. Home-Start Kennet helps parents give their children the best possible start in life. Our work with families at times of difficulty promotes family resilience and improves children’s life chances.

We recently won our second major Big Lottery award towards funding our 2016-19 FACES project (Families and Communities Engaged/Supported).

FACES will see us helping more families in the Devizes, Marlborough, Pewsey and Tidworth community areas, expanding our service into Chippenham and Calne and increasing support for the many military/veteran families settling in Wiltshire.

We have a lively and active Board of Trustees, and we now want to recruit new trustees to join us and get involved with our valuable work.  As well as people who are in sympathy with our mission and with our values, we would like to strengthen our management and governance capabilities in the following areas:

Finance, marketing, social media, legal matters, HR

This is not an exclusive list and we would be very interested to hear what you would offer. Past volunteers and people who have been helped by Home-Start are welcome to apply. Familiarity with Chippenham, Calne, Devizes or Tidworth would be useful too.

The formal commitment is five Board meetings per year.  In addition, trustees are asked to serve on one of our committees or engage with other activities in support of the Scheme between meetings.

There’s lots more we can tell you about Home-Start. Please either contact the office for a chat or look at our website:

We look forward to hearing from you.
