Home-Visiting Volunteers Wanted

Would you like a new volunteering role that fits with school hours?

New Preparation Course date September 2018.

Home-Start Kennet has won a   Big Lottery grant and funding from the Army Covenant Fund which enables us to expand our unique family support service to the towns of Calne and Chippenham.    We are eager to meet local people, who will enjoy the satisfaction and challenge of working with a young family and help them to give their children the best possible start in life, by joining our volunteer force in those areas (as well as in Devizes, Pewsey, Tidworth and Marlborough community areas).

If you are experienced from raising your own/step/foster/adoptive children, can find a couple of hours a week to visit and support  a family who is struggling,  your two hours could make the difference between just about coping and discovering the joys of parenting.

Our volunteers come from all parts of the community, are men and women, and their ages range from 20s to 70s.  Some are winding down after busy lives at work or with their own families.  Others are gearing up and hope to use their experience to start a new career.

You’ll get training, and professional support.  For those who wish, there is the opportunity of national accreditation.  And we pay all out-of –pocket expenses.

And if you’d like to support Home-Start Kennet in a different way, please consider becoming a “Friend”.  For £10 per year you will make a real contribution to our work and will be kept up to date with our progress
