Free Activities to do with the Family

Sometimes it can be a struggle to think of ways to entertain the children without spending money, so we have put together a few ideas.

The Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust Nature Detectives website is bursting with ideas to get the family outside, burning off some energy and using their imagination. The website contains lots of free downloadable activity packs, outdoor play ideas and flowers, leaves and animal spotter sheets. Our favourite is the Imagine play booklet – if you and your children fancy making a mud pie cafe or interviewing a tree this is the booklet for you.

Go to their website for more information:

Local Libraries

Local libraries regularly have Rhyme Time and Story Time sessions for walkers and crawlers. There is lots of fun to be had singing noisy songs and rhymes and listening to stories.

Look at the libraries website for details of your nearest library and their activities:

Walks with Buggies

A fantastic website providing free information on walking routes suitable for parents with buggies and young children. There are walks detailed for the Marlborough, Pewsey and Devizes areas.

Free Fun at Home

Netmums have some fun ideas of things you can do at home including making a pirate ship and creating a music band!

If you have any suggestions or would like to tell us about a great free activity you have done with your children send us an email and we will add it to the website:
