Volunteer Preparation course


This is a FREE course for volunteers in preparation for supporting families.  The next course start date will be September 2018 and will be held in Tidworth.  This course is usually up to 40 hrs over seven weeks at one day week. Travel and childcare costs for trainees on the course will be paid. Most volunteers are then only asked to give 2 to 3 hours a week to support a family. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.  Please bring a packed lunch, or alternatively there are shops nearby.

This course is designed to prepare you for your role in supporting families within their home.  You will learn within a welcoming, relaxed and safe environment and the course will include group discussions and activities.  We hope you will have fun and enjoy the coming weeks. The course will cover the following elements:

We will also complete your DBS vetting during one of the sessions and you will be asked to bring with you the documentation for this. We will confirm which date and the documents needed.
